The great thing about Disney and the promised magic of Disney, is that it’s real. it’s the place on earth that an adult can go to, and suddenly find a transformation taking place, that transports one back to childhood, as all around are people of all ages, dressed up with Mickey ears and t-shirts depicting cute cartoon characters, through to star wars images.
We are all suddenly more then happy to enter into the spirit of childhood and fantasy. We can magically ride on a flying carpet, take a trip through Winnie The Pooh’s story book, visit Peter Pan’s Neverland or simply enjoy a glorious foot long hot dog.

This is what happened to us, when we visited Walt Disney Word in Orlando Florida 2019. You can enter the gates jaded from travel, in our case a long transatlantic flight from the uk, and within minutes, whilst soaking up the gloriousness of the Florida sunshine, be gazing upon the beauty of cinderella castle at the end of main street, a classic view which has thrilled the heart of generations.
It is our admission, that we did not get to the end of Main Street without having checked out, Uptown Jewellers and other apparel stores, having got ones eyes on a rather expensive Doonie and Burke bag and shyly considering dare we get away with some of those glitzy mouse ears.
We stood in line for our first, Starbucks to cool ourselves down in the ninety degree heat with an iced strawberry acai blended with coconut milk. It became an addiction that stayed with us throughout our trip.
The magic of Disney seems to somehow give energy to accomplish more then you might normally do. If any of you have a step counter on your device you’d be shocked at exactly how far you’ve walked on a full day of exploring the magic!
The most magical time of day for us was in the evening, when the temperature became a delicious seventy two degrees F. We found our favourite place to perch and watch the fireworks, which are unrivalled anywhere in the world. The emotion of the music track put to the exploding lights in the sky can be quite overwhelming after a day filled with rides and excitement.
It will be our task, through the coming series of articles, to take you through some of our favourite things, this is but an overview, to begin to introduce you all to the magic that is Disney, and to encourage you, as an adult, that yes, you are going to have one of the most amazing holidays that anyone can have on the face of the earth.
